Love does hurt since we went apart
With all the pain inside my heart
But then being together with you
My conscience cannot permit me to do

To steal you from your family
Or I will lose Heaven's eternity
For God said to love Him above all
With you around, it is an order so tall

So I will just walk away quietly
But still in my heart hold your memory
Maybe someday we will cross path again
To give love to each other worthy of Heaven

As they play the last song for me
In my travel from the grave to eternity
My son be around to sing the last song

Guide me with your light of mercy

With your breath of everlasting life
Let my body lie with my husband as his wife

With forgiveness from God's love

Though departed I am glad I still love you
That makes me feel I am still your wife

Though a widow I feel to be a merry one

I settle for this second best life I found
