Fear of the Lord is a gift by the Holy Spirit
A holy fear that in our hearts does sit
It is the fear of offending the Holy One
It calls us to do reparations when sin is done
This fear does not talk of terror
It talks of piety and hope with fervor
A God of awesome goodness, how can you offend?
Who died to save us, as the Father did send
Of the gifts of the Spirit, it is the greatest
Then wisdom, understanding, counsel as the rest
Fortitude, knowledge, piety will we possess
Once we open our hearts to the Lord's graces
